Originally from Corning NY in the Finger Lakes Region, currently reside in Beacon NY. Began a transition to healthcare in 2006 after working in the Internet industry. First worked as a registered nurse on the psychiatric medical surgical unit of University of Rochester Medical Center, and later on the neuroscience intensive care unit of VCU Medical Center.

Since 2015, have worked as a board certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP-C) with medium and large county agencies, and with small rural practices. All settings involved treatment of diverse underserved populations with serious mental illnesses.

Have engineering science (RPI) and nursing (SUNY) bachelor's degrees, and MBA (OSU) and nursing (UCSF) master's degrees.
